The Direct Marketing Association's Alternate Response Media Council will hold its first Insert Media Day this September in New York.
Though the exact date and location are undetermined, the event will feature speakers on topics relevant to practitioners and users of insert media.
The event aims to encourage more widespread recognition and use of inserts as a major direct mail medium and to raise the status of inserts within the direct marketing industry.
The ARM Council embarked on a sort of rebranding effort for the alternative media industry in October at the fall DMA show. It held an open forum to muster support for changing the catch-all name for package inserts, bind-ins, blow-ins and statement stuffers from alternative media to something signifying that these marketing practices are not “alternative” but mainstream.
