CoolSavings.com launches new look, Web site

The original consumer savings destination www.coolsavings.com – with its iconic pink piggybank with the black sunglasses – celebrates 10 years of deals this month with expanded savings and a new look.

CoolSavings.com was launched in 1997 by interactive marketing service provider Q Interactive, a wholly owned subsidiary of Landmark Communications Inc. At the time, it was known as CoolSavings Inc. Over the last decade, more than 45 million consumers have joined CoolSavings for printable coupons, online deals and information from the nation’s top brands.

“We revamped the CoolSavings site based on what we’ve been hearing from consumers,” said Craig Tanner, vice president of product and member marketing at Q Interactive. “Aside from better, easier navigation, we’ve added substantially more of the premium brand savings content consumers want and, in the most significant development, we no longer require consumers to register to take advantage of the offers. For advertisers, that translates into a higher volume of traffic and better merchandising of their offers.”

In celebration of its anniversary, CoolSavings.com unveiled a major facelift. One of the biggest changes consumers will notice is that all visitors now have full access to the site without having to register first.

Its redesign also includes expanded savings, including more than 50 printable coupons from CPG brands and more than 300 online coupons from the retailers. In addition, the site features a more prominent, easier navigation layout and new content with editorial features and savings tips.

While CoolSavings.com remains Chicago-based Q Interactive’s flagship consumer brand, the company’s name change in January 2006 reflected the evolution of its business to meet the growing needs of advertisers and Web publishers in its extensive advertising network, the Q Network.

“For the last 10 years, CoolSavings.com has been a leading online destination for busy moms and other active shoppers and a valuable source of highly desirable but hard-to-reach consumers for advertisers,” Matt Wise, president/CEO of Q Interactive, said in a statement. “While our business has grown to become a leader in online lead generation and e-mail services for advertisers across a network of more than 1,000 sites, we continue to believe in the value CoolSavings provides to consumers and brands alike and look forward to many more years of great service on the site.”
