Convergys Corp., Cincinnati, yesterday said it agreed to market and implement Neuromedia Inc.’s automated customer-service software and made a multimillion dollar equity investment in the San Francisco-based company.
The outsourced customer care provider declined to reveal the exact value of the investment.
Convergys said it would incorporate Neuromedia’s virtual-agent technology as part of a best-of-breed platform for its Internet customers.
Neuromedia's vReps are customized software built around knowledge bases that generate real-time text answers to online text queries. Like automated e-mail responses and interactive voice response technology, the vReps reduce the need for human intervention for online customer care and sales.
