Convergys Corp. has renewed a contract to provide inbound customer call support for TeleCorp PCS Inc., AT&T Wireless' largest affiliate with more than 900,000 subscribers to its wireless phone service.
Convergys, a provider of teleservices and billing support, said that it would handle calls from TeleCorp customers concerning general care, billing, technical support, problem tracking and service activation. Convergys will provide customer support in English to TeleCorp customers in the 14 states in which TeleCorp operates, as well as in Spanish to TeleCorp's Puerto Rican customers.
Arlington, VA-based TeleCorp signed a separate five-year contract with Convergys in September for use of Convergys' Atlys billing system, which is designed for use by wireless providers. Scott Weismiller, TeleCorp vice president of customer care, said his company has used Convergys for customer support since it launched its SunCom wireless service three years ago.
Further details about the customer support contract were not released.
