Conservation Body Names Osborn & Barr

The National Association of Conservation Districts asked Osborn & Barr, St. Louis, to develop a marketing plan for its new Backyard Woods campaign.

The plan aims to raise $500,000 in grant donations for the campaign. Marketing, including direct at a later stage, will target rural audiences and association members.

Based in Washington, the association is a private nonprofit that represents 3,000 conservation districts nationwide and across U.S. territories. It offers information and program services to districts and state associations, analyzing conservation programs and policy issues.

Backyard Woods seeks to inspire landowners with one-acre to 10-acre holdings to create and maintain healthy trees, work with neighbors to preserve the landscape and educate them about forest management. Partners in this campaign include the U.S. Department of Agriculture, Forest Service Northeastern Area, the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service and state and private forestry.
