Cond? Nast renews mobile media contract

Cond? Nast Publications has renewed its contract with mobile content provider Motricity. The contract will now hold for another two years.

Motricityáprovides text-messaging information services for Cond? Nast print publications such as Self, Allure and Wired, as well as the publisher’s online counterpart, Cond?Net.

Through the opt-in text service, readers can choose to receive weekly tips and polls from some Cond? Nast magazines and Web sites.

In a non-subscription option, readers may text the Philips Simplicity Concierge for instant dining, shopping and nightlife recommendations. The Concierge service is specific to 20 cities worldwide and is a new addition to the Cond? Nast/Motricity advertising space.

“We’ve been able to create useful and fun text programs which are consistent with our brands, while also creating easy and effective programs for our advertisers to participate in and share in our mobile success,” Carrie Seifer, director of emerging technologies for Cond?Net, said in a statement. “The versatility and time-to-market for new campaigns which Motricity provides, allows us to fully engage the power of mobile and connect with our readers in a more meaningful manner.”

Neither Cond? Nast nor Motricity could be reached for comment as of press time.

Motricity, based in Durham, NC, provides mobile portals and storefronts, messaging aggregation and other services. The company’s customers include seven of the top 12 mobile network operators in North America and 20 television networks.
