Company Debuts Loyalty Program to Pay School Costs

Database marketing company EdExpress, Dallas, yesterday launched a loyalty marketing program designed to help families save for their children’s education and former students pay off school loans.

Parents, friends and relatives can accumulate education funds known as EdBucks by shopping at participating stores with a registered credit card of their choice. Accumulated points can be used for tuition, books, room and board or other related expenses at accredited colleges, private K-12 schools, trade schools and junior colleges. Adults without children can use EdBucks to pay off outstanding student loans.

Participating companies include Dell, McCoy Building Supply Centers and VarTec Telecom, as well as e-tailers like DisneyStore.com, Brookstone.com, DrugEmporium.com, Garden.com, MVP.com, Petsmart.com and others.

The EdExpress Web site, www.edexpress.com, can be used to track EdDollars and authorize disbursements. There is a fee involved with the program.
