MP3.com Inc. and music accessories e-tail firm MarsMusic.com are co-marketing Musicians Mall, a new Web site that will offer more than 8,500 musical instruments and products.
The music gear, arranged in more than 125 categories, is the same collection available at MarsMusic.com, Fort Lauderdale, FL.
Financial terms of the agreement were not disclosed but, according to a prepared release, MP3.com stands to gain from cross-marketing because of the deal.
MP3.com, San Diego, will place ads with special offers at www.mp3.com/musiciansmall. The agreement also calls for MarsMusic.com to add a link to its home page that will allow viewers to go to MP3.com.
MP3.com, a Web site that allows viewers to download music, said the similarities between the company's products made the co-marketing deal a good fit.
