Compact Information Systems Buys AmeriComm List Division

Direct marketing firm AmeriComm LLC, Chesapeake, VA, announced that it sold its list division to Compact Information Systems effective Nov. 8.

Details of the transaction were not made public.

The sale includes AmeriComm’s Fastlist online database of residential households as well as its AList and ARMS list products.

Compact Information Systems, Redmond, WA, has been a supplier of resident, consumer and business lists since 1988. It is a reseller of the Equifax TotalSource consumer database and infoUSA business data.

AmeriComm will continue to serve the direct marketing community with its data processing, customer database management/analysis, statement/invoice rendering, offset printing and direct mail production services.

“The sale of our list division actually creates a strong partnership with CIS that, in turn, will benefit both companies significantly,” said AmeriComm president/CEO J. David Craig.

Craig, along with a group of key managers and local investors, bought certain assets of AmeriComm Direct Marketing from parent firm Dimac Holdings Inc. in January 2001. AmeriComm acquired Fastlist from ChoicePoint, Atlanta, in 2003.

AmeriComm has been in business for more than 50 years and has facilities in Chesapeake, VA, Mountainside, NJ, Louisville, KY, and Denver.
