Community Health Taps Intecom for Telecomm Network

Looking to simplify communication between doctors and patients and to ease connectivity between remote locations, Community Health Systems has named Intecom to provide a telecommunications network for the healthcare provider.

The architecture will feature a single image database and centralized administration to create common access, communications and functionality for streamlined operations for Community Health, which specializes in multiple acute, long-term care and outpatient facilities. A host location in Fresno, CA, coupled with three remote switching units will create an enterprise-wide healthcare network that functions as a single, cohesive system.

“We are excited about Community's future and seeing how Intecom technology will benefit our patients, medical staff and hospital administrators,” said Mike Kingsbury, senior vice president, chief information officer, Community Health.

Intecom, which is based in Dallas, specializes in call center solutions and fully integrated PBX capabilities designed to transform the way customers communicate person-to-person, business-to-business and between computers.
