Cohn & Wells Reorganizes, Changes Name

Direct marketing services agency Cohn & Wells, San Francisco, last week announced the revamping of its name and a reorganization of its overall structure.

The company will now be known as Cohn & Wells Partners and will be structured around three core areas of capability: campaign planning and management, creative content and information design.

The company said the new areas “represent a convergence of its traditional agency departments and disciplines along with the agency’s more progressive and evolving areas of competence, including online/interactive and database marketing.”

Michael Kantrow will join the agency as a managing partner and Mike McGovern will serve as creative director, joining the agency’s senior management team headed by John Greer and Susan Murphy. Cohn and Wells Partners’ clients include Volvo, MCI, Intel, First USA, Sony and Bell Canada.

The agency is part of EURO RSCG Worldwide, the world’s fifth-largest agency network. Cohn and Wells Partners was originally founded in 1984.

Young and Rubicam direct marketing services agency Wunderman Cato Johnson, New York, a competitor of Cohn and Wells Partners’ announced a similar reorganization in March.
