Eyeglass retailer Cohen's Fashion Optical hired Flying Point Media, New York, to run online marketing for the chain as the Internet increasingly influences purchases in the optical sector.
The 3-year-old interactive agency, which is New York-based Cohen's first online shop, is to generate foot traffic at the more than 100 franchise stores in the Northeast and southern Florida. Flying Point is responsible for online strategy, creative, buying and measurement. A fall campaign debuts soon, after an initial test period is through.
An 85-year-old business, Cohen's sells designer and fashion frames, high-tech lenses, contact lenses and designer sunglasses. The retailer also offers an eye exam by an optometrist at each store. Cohen's joins Flying Point clients like Borders, Maxell, Kaplan University, Strivectin-SD and Emigrant Direct.
