The Coca-Cola Co. has appointed CMO Beatriz Perez its first chief sustainability officer, effective July 1. The Atlanta-based company did not immediately name a successor for its lead marketing position.

Perez will oversee the company’s newly launched global sustainability office, reporting to EVP and chief administrative officer Alexander Cummings. She will create and oversee Coca-Cola’s sustainability efforts and strategy and track global partnerships and projects.
