Who it is: David Horton, appointed CMO for Las Vegas Sands Corp.

What’s his role: Horton will oversee marketing functions, including management, distribution strategies, guest experience and product development.

Where was he prior: Before joining Las Vegas Sands Corp., Horton was Global Head for Hilton Hotels and Resorts. He began his career working for independent hotels, working his way up through the ranks, until he joined Hilton.

Why was he appointed: Horton has held significant marketing responsibilities with 550 hotels and resorts across 85 countries. 

Who it is: Lori Wright, named CMO of Tibco

What’s her role:  Her charge is to expand growth and help the company operate at a larger scale.

Where was she prior: Previously, Wright was VP at Symantec, an online sales group.

Why was she appointed: “Wright’s broad marketing and leadership experience will provide a strong complement to the TIBCO marketing organization,” says CEO Murray Rode.

Who it is: Andy Jolls, appointed SVP of Marketing for uSamp

What’s his role: Jolls will lead the company’s research and marketing initiatives, helping to expand its customer base.

Where was he prior: Prior to joining uSamp, Jolls served as SVP of Consumer Marketing for Before that, he was CEO for

Why was he appointed: “Andy brings a breadth and depth of experience marketing in lead generation, e-commerce, software and hardware businesses of varied sizes,” says CEO Alan Gould.

Who it is: Kate Hutchinson, appointed CMO of Riverbed Technology, an application performance company

What’s her role: Hutchinson is charged with elevating the Riverbed brand.

Where was she prior: Previously, Hutchinson served as CMO and EVP for Polycom, and helped build the brands of companies like VMWare and Citrix.

Why was she appointed: “Kate brings extraordinary business expertise and marketing leadership to Riverbed,” says CEO, Jerry M. Kennelly.

Who it is: Jeanne Hopkins, named SVP and CMO of Continuum, a provider of services solutions

What’s her role: Hopkins will lead the marketing team, while also strengthening ties with other product, engineering and service delivery groups.

Where was she prior: Previously, Hopkins was CMO at SmartBear Softwar, and VP of Marketing at HubSpot, according to her LinkedIn profile.

Why she was appointed: Hopkins has significant experience in sales management, and is a frequent speaker on topics including demand generation and mobile marketing.

Who it is: Pamela Dunaway, appointed Publisher and CMO at OperaNews, a leading opera magazine

What’s her role: Dunaway will oversee the magazine’s operations, including publishing and marketing.

Where was she prior: Previously, Dunaway was CMO for Weider History Group’s 11 magazines, including Conde Nast, The Taunton Press and SPIN.

Why was she appointed: “Her deep understanding of the publishing world will help accelerate the growth of OperaNews, and allow us to capitalize on the opportunities of the evolving magazine industry,” says Richard J. Miller, Jr., President of Metropolitan Opera Guild.
