Chidester named first Wunderman World Health president

Wunderman named Becky Chidester, most recently the president of Wunderman NY, to the newly created position of president of Wunderman World Health, effective April 19.

Chidester, who reports to Wunderman Chairman and CEO Daniel Morel, was replaced by David Shulman, former chief digital officer at Enfatico.

Chidester will serve as a healthcare point person across the agency’s client base. Wunderman World Health is not a standalone agency or Wunderman unit.

“This allows us to take our digital, CRM and integrated best practices and apply them across the entire sector, so that we don’t become insular,” Chidester said. “From a global perspective, the US has developed healthcare opportunities, but outside the US, those opportunities are still developing. This move allows us to take US resources and capabilities and apply them to world.”

Wunderman has taken similar steps in the automotive vertical and for large clients such as Microsoft.

Chidester will move from New York to Washington, DC, because “you can no longer affect marketing communications without appreciation for the regulatory environment,” she said.

She will focus on business-to-consumer communications, due in large part to the greater role consumers will play in their own healthcare because of recently passed legislation, she said.
