Chico's FAS Inc.'s net sales for the quarter ended Aug. 3 rose 39.8 percent to $125.1 million from $89.5 million in the quarter ended Aug. 4, 2001, and net income increased 47.8 percent to $16.4 million from $11.1 million, the Fort Myers, FL, company said yesterday.
Comparable-store sales for company-owned stores rose 11.6 percent in the quarter ended Aug. 3 from the comparable period last year.
During the six months ended Aug. 3, net sales increased 39.8 percent to $255.5 million from $182.7 million in the prior year's six-month period ended Aug. 4, 2001. Net income rose 54.1 percent to $36.2 million from $23.5 million. Comparable-store sales for company-owned stores increased 12.4 percent for the 26-week period.
Net sales by catalog and Internet totaled $7,057,037 in the 26 weeks ended Aug. 3, up from $4,639,911 in the comparable period that ended Aug. 4, 2001.
Net sales by catalog and Internet for the 13 weeks ended Aug. 3 totaled $3,475,111, up from $2,343,495 in the comparable period ended Aug. 4, 2001.
