Chico's FAS Inc. reported its quarterly profit rose 49 percent yesterday mainly because of increased sales in its women’s clothing stores.
Chico’s, Fort Myers, FL, posted net income of $24.5 million, or 28 cents per share, in its second quarter ended Aug. 2, compared with $16.4 million, or 19 cents, a year earlier.
Analysts had expected a 26 cents per share, according to Reuters Research.
