CheetahMail to Add Cybuy Transaction Technology to E-Mail

SEATTLE — CheetahMail Inc., a permission-based e-mail marketer, said at the Direct Marketing Association's meeting yesterday that it has established a strategic relationship with Cybuy and will make the company's transaction technology available to its clients.

Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed.

CheetahMail, New York, said it will incorporate Cybuy's e-commerce technology into its suite of products and that online jewelry retailer will be the first of its clients to use Cybuy's transaction services. will use the technology to deliver an e-mail campaign that allows consumers to select jewelry by type and style, complete an order form and make the purchase from within their e-mail client, CheetahMail said.

Irene Pedraza, CheetahMail's CEO, said using Cybuy's technology allows the company's customers to easily incorporate transaction capabilities into their e-mail programs. She said the technology lets marketers “marry the product offer with the purchasing process.”

CheetahMail's clients also will have access to Cybuy's online sales system, which integrates order capture, order processing, secure transaction management and inventory controls.
