Centric Events Group LLC, a private firm targeting event management companies, bought the trade show division of Imark Communications Inc.
The deal, announced yesterday, comes after Portland, OR-based Imark in January sold its @d:Tech Internet advertising and marketing conference. JD Events, Fairfield, CT, bought the biannual show four years after managing it on the East and West coasts.
Founded in 1981, the Imark trade show division covers more than 30 markets with 3,000 clients and 500,000 square feet of floor space. It specializes in information technology shows, chief information officer forums and a show on government business education technology.
Terms of the deal were not disclosed by Jordan, Edmiston Group Inc., the New York investment bank that brokered the transaction for iMark. Reasons for the sale were not disclosed, either.
Former senior executives from COMDEX and ZD Events, both known for their shows, earlier this year launched Centric Events, a Delaware company. The Imark trade show division will be based in its Portland, OR, base.
