CDDB, Berkeley, CA, has agreed to provide the Yahoo Player streaming audio system with its music recognition service. CDDB’s service recognizes music played through a computer, then provides related artist, album and track information via the Internet.
The service also tallies how many people access the service through its Look Up function and uses those numbers to calculate the CDDB Top Ten, which charts the 10 most “looked up” artists online. The chart is published weekly in Billboard magazine.
