Cataloger Collegiate Pacific Caps Deal With New Era

Team sportswear marketer Collegiate Pacific will significantly expand its cap selection thanks to an exclusive deal with New Era Cap Co. announced July 5.

New Era is best known as the maker of the official cap worn by every Major League Baseball player.

While Collegiate Pacific already sells some caps, this deal will result in “a major product expansion” for the company, said Adam Blumenfeld, president of Collegiate Pacific.

The company’s catalog will see a “substantial addition of space dedicated to the New Era cap program” by the fall, Mr. Blumenfeld said from Dallas, TX.

The caps will also be promoted in the front of the book and will be available on the company’s Web site .

Collegiate Pacific offers 4,500 sports related items to the institutional and team dealer market through 175 road salesmen, more than 1.5 million catalogs dropped annually, numerous Web sites and a growing network of almost 2,000 team dealers.

Under the terms of the agreement, Collegiate Pacific will launch a New Era Team Sports division on July 15 and act as a single-point solution for marketing, order processing and distribution to the institutional and team sporting goods markets on behalf of New Era, Buffalo, NY.

Collegiate Pacific will inherit New Era’s existing customer base with the exception of some accounts. Collegiate Pacific will maintain its ability to sell competing products on customer request.
