The John Caples International Awards' board of directors honored Susan K. Jones and Peter White with the Andi Emerson Award and Irving Wunderman Award, respectively.
Jones is being honored for her contribution to the creative discipline in direct marketing. She runs 23-year-old direct agency Susan K. Jones and Associates and is a partner in The Callahan Group. She is also a tenured professor at Ferris State University in Michigan.
She has written books like “Creative Strategy in Direct Marketing” and co-authored “Selling by Mail” and “Marketing Convergence.”
White takes the Wunderman award for his copywriting work. He is executive vice president and group creative director at Wunderman, New York. He works on clients like Citibank, Kraft Foods and Club Med.
The awards will be given with other awards Feb. 27 in New York at the 25th Caples ceremony. Established in 1978 by direct marketer Andi Emerson, Caples is named for John Caples, a well-known DM practitioner. The awards garner entries from 37 countries, showcasing innovative solutions to direct marketing problems.
