Union Gas Ltd. has selected Group 1 Software's DOC1 system to develop more than 1 million customized bills each month, the Lanham, MD, software company said yesterday.
Union Gas is a Canadian natural gas utility that provides energy delivery and related services to more than 1 million residential, commercial and industrial customers in Ontario.
DOC1 allows companies to create high-impact, personalized communications for delivery in print, via the Web or by e-mail.
“DOC1 enables us to develop personalized customer documents quickly and easily,” said Glen Reaume, IT project manager at Union Gas. “With DOC1, we have increased flexibility to format and maintain customer relationship communications.
“Like any energy provider, we frequently change the customized messages on our correspondence,” he said. “With DOC1's interactive development environment, we can now view these messages as they change, therefore avoiding a slowdown in production associated with printing and proofreading customer correspondence.”
