Call for submissions for Essential Guide to Lists & Databases

DMNews is seeking submissions for the 2010 Essential Guide to Lists & Databases, which will be published February 15.

Against the backdrop of the lingering recession, marketers are pressed to develop a strategy that leverages customer information for greater insight and understanding of their customers and prospects. Marketing automation technologies are a boost, but process and strategy are equally important.

“Companies in general are struggling to have a better depth of understanding of customers or prospects,” said Bob Hale, SVP of corporate development for Alterian, in a recent conversation with DMNews.

Database marketing companies and list providers continue to investigate the best ways to provide insight for marketers to flesh out the profile of customers and prospects, whether it is through market research, or extending data analytics into the social media and mobile realm.

Opportunities as well as challenges abound. Integrating siloed data across channels continues to vex marketers, but it is only when there is a holistic view of consumers that multichannel marketing is truly relevant. List and database process and technology are at the core of that.

Experts from all areas of the direct marketing world are invited to share their knowledge, case studies, trends, tips, best practices and forecasts with DMNews’ readership. We will accept submissions at various levels of expertise and understanding.

Please e-mail your 450-word article (the piece must be right around 450 words or it will not be considered) to executive editor Carol Krol at [email protected], by January 15.

The submissions must be formatted as a Microsoft Word attachment and include the author’s name, title and e-mail address. In addition, please attach a high-resolution, 300 dpi print-quality color headshot. Entries without photos will not be considered.

Because of the sheer volume of response we expect, we cannot guarantee inclusion of all articles, and we cannot acknowledge receipt. Articles may be edited.
