Caboodles Picks DHL for Shipping

DHL entered into an agreement this week with Caboodles Cosmetics to transfer all shipping business to the express delivery and logistics company.

Caboodles, Memphis, TN, will use DHL's domestic express, ground and international delivery services exclusively to distribute its teen and pre-teen cosmetics lines in the United States, Canada and United Kingdom. Caboodles offers teen cosmetics, cosmetics organizers, fashion bags, accessories and bath and body collections.

“Product distribution is a critical component of our business,” said Patrick Duffy, transportation manager for Caboodles Cosmetics. “By switching to DHL, we increased our on-time delivery service performance, reduced penalties for shipment delays and significantly improved the satisfaction of our retail customers.”

With a large distribution center in Memphis and a second in Mississauga, Ontario, Caboodles frequently imports and exports products and exchanges inventory between its centers. However, Caboodles' trans-border shipments frequently were returned or delayed in the customs clearance process.

“When we switched carriers, we discovered that DHL's import and export agents were more experienced, resulting in improved, more efficient customs clearance,” Duffy said.

DHL, Plantation, FL, partnered with Caboodles to integrate the DHL EasyShip shipping system with Caboodles' proprietary pick-and-pack software. The newly upgraded system lets Caboodles scan a barcode to complete the DHL shipping label, saving data-entry time and speeding up shipment preparation.'
