Outdoors outfitter Cabela's will use analytical software to predict how weather could affect demand for its products so the retailer can better manage its inventory and catalogs, the company said yesterday.
Designed by Planalytics Inc., the software, known as Impact LR, can provide long-range forecasts of consumer demand and contain details down to the ZIP-code level, a Cabela's executive said.
Impact LR can predict how weather will affect seasonal business up to one year in advance.
Sidney, NE-based Cabela's, markets hunting, fishing and outdoors gear through catalogs distributed nationwide and in 120 countries.
