Industrial distributor Fastenal Company generated a 100 percent increase in e-commerce growth since launching a new product search, navigation and merchandising solution in October, search solutions provider Endeca said yesterday.
Fastenal implemented the Endeca B2B eCommerce Solution for product catalog search to improve the customer experience on its business-to-business Web site, fastenal.com, by providing intuitive access to more than 200,000 products, parts and components.
Taking advantage of Endeca’s patent-pending Guided Navigation capabilities, construction and industrial customers can search and browse for parts using desirable attributes or dimensions and characteristics.
In addition, Fastenal is using Endeca’s profile-based merchandising to provide customized promotions, selection and refinements, based on customer location. Results include an increase in site registrations and a nearly 70 percent increase in the number of unique visitors to the site.
