Broadwing to Offer ZeroPlus' Phone Service

ZeroPlus.com Inc., which offers phone-to-phone service over the Internet, recently announced that its service is now available through Broadwing Inc.'s communications division.

Terms of the deal were not disclosed. However, ZeroPlus said that it expects to generate incremental revenue with each sale by Broadwing, Austin, TX.

A separate, nonexclusive agreement also was announced that calls for Broadwing to provide network services to ZeroPlus.

ZeroPlus, Germantown, MD, allows its consumer members to make calls over the Web without first entering account and personal identification numbers — a process required by some calling-card services and Internet-dialing companies.

The service uses ZeroPlus' automatic numbering identification technology, which recognizes the location from which a member is placing a call. Members can use a standard phone by dialing a toll-free or local access number, then placing their calls.
