Blue Sky Factory acquires nTarget

E-mail marketing services firm Blue Sky Factory has acquired nTarget, a Charlotte, NC-based e-mail marketing firm in an undisclosed deal.

The acquisition, which was assisted by investment firm The Targhee Group, expands on Blue Sky Factory’s hospitality, travel, tourism, retail and e-commerce verticals.

“We acquired nTarget due to their strong vertical expertise and client concentration in the travel and tourism industry and other key verticals,” said Greg Cangialosi, CEO of Blue Sky Factory.

Under the terms of the agreement, nTarget will merge their client roster under the Blue Sky Factory brand. These clients include the e-mail marketing for Cracker Barrel, Nassau Paradise Island, Columbia Hospitality and Carlson-Wagonlit Travel.

Effective immediately, all nTarget employees will become part of the Blue Sky Factory team. John Kirk, head of sales and marketing for nTarget, will oversee the new North Carolina operations center for Blue Sky Factory. As a result of the acquisition, Blue Sky Factory will operate and maintain the existing North Carolina office and all nTarget employees will remain in North Carolina.

The acquisition was also made because “there was a great cultural fit with the nTarget team and the Blue Sky Factory team,” Cangialosi added.

As a result of the acquisition, Blue Sky Factory will build out its technology products with the release of its Publicaster application, a Web-based, self-service e-mail marketing tool, preparing for a 7.0 release this summer.

“The acquisition means that the e-mail marketing industry is strong and growing, companies are increasingly seeking strategic partnerships to create synergies that benefit clients,” added Cangialosi.
