Bickert Forms Database Marketing Consultancy

Jock Bickert, a database marketing expert who pioneered the first household-based segmentation system, announced that he has started Database Psychologist, a database marketing consultancy in Denver.

Bickert left Denver-based Looking Glass Inc., the company he founded in 1995, in late October of last year.

Bickert said Database Psychologist would help clients improve consumer marketing performance.

“Marketers need more than sophisticated modeling and/or audience targeting to reap the benefits of true consumer understanding,” he said. “The 'whys' of consumer behavior often remain major question marks. A 'database psychologist' can effectively address those 'whys' and help marketers complete the process of cost-effective communication with customers.”

Prior to founding Looking Glass, Bickert founded National Demographics & Lifestyles.

In addition to numerous industry awards, Bickert was elected to the Direct Marketing Association's Hall of Fame in 2002. Bickert has a B.A. in psychology from Princeton University, an M.A. in clinical psychology from the State University of Iowa and further graduate work toward a Ph.D. in clinical psychology at the University of Colorado.
