Betting Tipster Pays $15,000 No-Call Settlement

A company that marketed tips on sports gambling must pay $15,000 to Missouri to settle a complaint that it violated the state's no-call list, Missouri attorney general Jay Nixon said last week.

Jack Price Sports, Irvine, CA, also agreed to comply with the state's no-call law in the future as part of the settlement, made in St. Louis City Circuit Court. The state received more than 60 complaints from consumers on its no-call list about telemarketing calls from Jack Price Sports, Nixon said.

Money from the settlement will be used to help fund the continued operation of the state's no-call list. Missouri has obtained $1.2 million in judgments under its no-call law.
