Benchmark Email joins ESPC

Benchmark Email has joined the Email Sender and Provider Coalition in a move to reduce spam and address e-mail deliverability issues.

In addressing e-mail issues, Benchmark Email, Long Beach, CA, joins such longtime ESPC members as aQuantive, Experian’s CheetahMail, Constant Contact and Goodmail Systems.

“Benchmark Email is proud to join forces with the ESPC, a forward-thinking committee that tackles one of the biggest issues facing our sector today: deliverability,” said Curt Keller, CEO of the Benchmark Internet Group. “We believe that by formally joining the ESPC, our customers will reap the benefits. These will include improved delivery, fewer spam complaints and better response to campaigns.”

The coalition requires that members adhere to a set of e-mail marketing guidelines, which address a broad spectrum of industry topics including customer expectation and unsubscribe issues. One of the ESPC’s directives is to encourage e-mail subscribers to double opt-in.

Benchmark Email’s joining comes as the ESPC grows its membership. Other recent members of the ESPC are Alterian and Progressing Markets. Both companies joined the coalition this past spring.
