Beer.com’s StellaCam Debuts in Three Cities

The full potential of the Internet has been tapped at beer.com, so to speak. Now, visitors to the site’s StellaCam, which launched yesterday, can interact and even buy beers for people in bars across the globe.

StellaCam is a live, two-way Web cam that allows beer lovers to log on and visit bars like New York’s Belgo Niew-York, The Shark Club in Vancouver and Cafe Vomm in Brussels, Belgium.

“StellaCam provides a live, interactive bar experience 24 hours a day, seven days a week,” said Rocco Rossi, president of beer.com. “It’s a novel, light-hearted way to unite beer lovers and encourage communication between Internet users and bar patrons around the world.”

StellaCam computer terminals will focus on one particular seat in the bar, known as the “Stella seat.” Internet visitors can chat with and buy beer for whoever is in the seat. It will cost $6.50 to buy a beer and $2 to chat.

Beer.com plans to have 20 StellaCams in operation around the world by the end of the year.
