BCC Software Gets USPS LACSLink Certification

BCC Software, a BOWE Bell + Howell company and software developer for professional mailers, said Friday that it has been certified by the U.S. Postal Service as a LACSLink developer and distributor licensee.

LACS stands for Locatable Address Conversion System, which the USPS released in September.

LACSLink has a frequently updated database of 5 million records used in automatically updating addresses following street-name conversions. The system also keeps track of new street and address designations for rural routes, which often are made for more reliable 911 emergency service.

Since 1994, about 400,000 rural route/box numbers have changed yearly, according to the USPS.

With this certification, BCC adds LACSLink to BCC Data Services, the company's list-enhancing resources available to users of BCC's Mail Manager 2010 and Mail Manager 2010 LE software products as well as the BCC Data Services Wizard, a downloadable standalone application.

BCC, Rochester, NY, will offer LACSLink as a standalone service or in combination with NCOALink LSP and/or DPV processing.
