Social commerce software company Bazaarvoice said April 5 that it will introduce three products this fall – Bazaarvoice Customer Intelligence, SocialConnect Suite and Bazaarvoice Platform – to help marketers react faster to social media feedback from customers. The products will also automate some processes and make others simpler and more direct, the company said.
“We’re responding to a fundamental and permanent shift in the ways customers think and act,” said Mike Svatek, chief product officer at Bazaarvoice, at the company’s Social Commerce Summit. He described the products as “tools and technologies that help [marketers] get ahead of” that shift, adding that “understanding true intent” is crucial to building better products. The old form of that, Svatek said, was the focus group.
Customer Intelligence is an analytics application that provides real-time, structured information based on direct customer conversations. The SocialConnect Suite is intended to help marketers more closely connect their branded websites with social media sites and consumers’ social footprints. The third product, Platform, includes a developer program so apps can be created quickly and a partner program that enables application creation alongside agency, technology and service partners.
The company said the offerings are now available to its 1,100 customers on a pilot basis. Golfsmith is one marketer who has beta tested it. Neal Hauser, senior manager of e-commerce sales and digital marketing at Schwan’s Home Service, a food delivery company, told Direct Marketing News he is impressed with the potential of the SocialConnect Suite product in particular.
