Bacon’s Buys Multivision for Stronger Broadcast Media Monitoring

Bacon’s Information Inc. strengthened its presence in the media monitoring market with the purchase of Multivision, a privately held broadcast tracking service in Oakland, CA.

The acquisition comes three years after Bacon’s, Chicago, entered the broadcast monitoring business.

Multivision lets clients monitor their brand, watch media coverage, analyze the results and offer insights to pertinent audiences. It monitors more than 160 markets nationwide.

Owned by Swedish business intelligence firm Observer AB, Bacon’s maintains a database of journalists, distributes customized information and monitors media coverage for marketing and public relations executives.

The company most recently relaunched two sites, and, to offer communications executives complete access to its data, research and analysis.
