Aviall Takes Flight With BroadVision

Aviall Inc., an aviation parts distributor, said it is using BroadVision's e-business software to run its Web site.

Aviall, Memphis, TN, allows customers to download a parts list directly into www.aviall.com for pricing. The service simplifies large orders by eliminating hours of manual typing and faxing.

Aviall's Web site also features an e-catalog, created by BroadVision's One-To-One Publishing, that holds more than 230,000 aviation parts and a “request for quote” option that allows buyers to search for hard-to-find parts and submit their requests directly to manufacturers.

“We chose BroadVision's One-To-One Publishing because it provides us with an easy way to build content for both the Web and other new technologies, which will be critical to our success,” said Joe Lacik, vice president of information services at Aviall.

Aviall markets and distributes products for more than 180 manufacturers. BroadVision, Redwood City, CA, has more than 1,100 customers using its e-commerce application suite.
