ATG Upgrade Enhances Publishing, Integration Features

Art Technology Group Inc. yesterday debuted ATG 6.1, an upgrade that includes an enhanced publishing application and integration with major industry application servers.

The upgrade aims to lower operational and information technology costs while yielding better return on investment for users, the Cambridge, MA, company said.

The new ATG Publishing feature, for example, offers an integrated content management solution, using access to the user company's file-based assets. It also helps in updating personalized commerce, portal, self-service and other online applications.

ATG 6.1 will work with Web application servers like IBM's WebSphere 5.0, BEA Weblogic 8.1 and BEA Weblogic 7.0 on Linux, the company said. ATG customers now can build commerce and self-service applications more easily.

ATG 6.1 has an upgraded workflow engine to automate business processes identical to the way the company's scenario personalization feature enables automated customer interactions on the Web.

Users of ATG products include American Airlines, J. Crew, Martha Stewart Omnimedia, Walgreen Co., Wells Fargo & Co., Sun Microsystems, Best Buy Co., Alcatel, Ford Motor Credit and Eastman Kodak Co.
