App of the Week: Battery Doctor

These days there’s nothing more inconvenient than your mobile phone running out of battery when you’re on the road, at a conference, or visiting a client. Battery Doctor aims to make that situation a memory and extend mobile devices’ battery life by up to 50%.

Supporting 19 languages, the app deduces what processes are using up the battery on a smartphone and shows the culprits. The app even estimates how long the battery will last based on a variety of variables (e.g., Wi-Fi on or off, apps running). The user can tap a “task killer” button and Battery Doctor closes power-hogging apps that aren’t in use.

In addition, it provides the user with detailed battery information—accurate battery and charging time remaining—and promotes a healthy charge and longer battery life with its proprietary three-stage charging system.
