Anthropologie to launch international shipping on Web site

Anthropologie will launch international shipping through its Web site using E4X Inc.’s FiftyOne e-commerce offering.

FiftyOne allows customers from major international markets to browse and purchase products from US retail sites. International shoppers are presented with guaranteed prices site-wide in their preferred currency, international payment options and flexible international return policies.

“To be able to offer our international customers a way to easily and confidently shop with Anthropologie has long been a goal of ours,” said Michael Robinson, managing director of Anthropologie Direct, in a statement. “FiftyOne will allow us to provide our international customers with an online shopping experience similar to what the US Anthropologie customer receives.”

The FiftyOne solution currently services buyers transacting in 34 countries outside of the US including Canada, the UK, Germany and France, with guaranteed pricing in Canadian dollars, Euros and British pounds.

According to E4X, more than 55% of online purchases originate beyond U.S. borders. International customers are especially attractive to some US retailers right now because of economic factors.

“With both the Euro and Canadian dollar soaring to new heights relative to the US dollar, we feel this is the perfect time for US retailers to get serious about international sales,” said Kris Green, SVP of product and marketing at New York-based E4X.
