A group espousing the theory that President Obama is not a natural-born citizen and is thus ineligible to hold his office has released an infomercial asking consumers to call in and pledge a $30 donation. In return, donors receive assorted paraphernalia and have their name faxed on a petition.
I’ve been talking to a lot of people for the DRTV feature in our 30th Anniversary issue, and one person I interviewed reminded me of what Senator McCain’s camp said about Obama’s infomercial that aired during the campaign. “As anyone who has bought anything from an infomercial knows, the sales-job is always better than the product. Buyer beware.“
That person wasn’t making a political statement in mentioning what McCain said, by the way. I just found it ironic.
