Amount of Blocked E-Mail Dips a Little: Return Path

E-mail services firm Return Path found a slight decrease in commercial e-mail not reaching customers in its recent E-mail Blocking and Filtering Report.

The New York-based firm found that only 19.2 percent of e-mail is being blocked or filtered, a slight decrease over 2005 when 20.5 percent was blocked. In 2004 the report found that 22 percent was not getting through.

Return Path reviewed data from e-mail campaigns that used the companies Sender Score Mailbox Monitor from January to June 2006 to produce the study.

Sender Score Mailbox Monitor is one of Return Path’s four main services and products for e-mail deliverability that examines blocking and filtering issues after an e-mail campaign.
