American Express targets business travelers with new site

American Express Publishing has a new Web site for business travelers at www.executivetravelmagazine.com.

The site, which offers news and networking opportunities, was developed for and by business travelers. It was produced in cooperation with Wetpaint, a Seattle-based software supplier.

New York based-Executive Travel magazine has a circulation of more than 132,000 and provides frequent travelers with travel news and information.

User-generated content and expert resources will be combined on the magazine’s site, tailored to the lifestyle of traveling executives.

Designed to capture the experiences and insights from the road, the site aims to make it easy for travelers to share advice, comments, photos and links, and get access to an A-to-Z travel rolodex complete with resources from users and editors.

Expert contributors include members of the Executive Travel editorial staff and a featured blog by Randy Petersen of www.flyertalk.com.

Wetpaint supplies both the software and online expertise required for the community site. It provides Web 2.0 technology that powers click-and-type editable community Web sites. It currently has more than 100,000 active sites.
