Amazon.com announced Friday that it will lay off 150 workers, or 2 percent of its work force. The cuts will be across the board, according to news reports, but mainly at Amazon's Seattle headquarters. Amazon's stock fell sharply in trading Friday. A company spokesman claimed the layoffs are not a reaction to holiday sales or seasonal factors. The company is expected to release its fourth quarter earnings on Wednesday.
