AltaVista Launches Loyalty Program for Shopping.com

AltaVista Co., part of the CMGI network, yesterday launched its first loyalty program that allows consumers to gain reward points for not only buying on the Web portal’s Shopping.com service but also browsing.

AltaVista Rewards members can earn points for researching and comparing products, browsing various departments on Shopping.com, buying products using the service’s comparison shopping guide or visiting the site’s network of more than 700 retail partners’ online stores. This is in addition to points gained for buying on Shopping.com.

To entice customers, a new “Smart Shopping Is Rewarding” sweepstakes, through July 9, gives the chance to win prizes worth more than $1 million to over 1,200 AltaVista Rewards members who earn points on Shopping.com.
