Alerts.com Partners With The Gallup Poll

With the presidential elections only two months away, The Gallup Poll, a public opinion polling organization, this week announced a partnership with Alerts.com, a messaging notification provider, to offer Internet users real-time updates on presidential polls around the nation. Alerts.com, Raleigh, NC, aims to send out daily notifications on the presidential polls via e-mail, cell phones and other wireless devices.

The Gallup Poll, a group of the Gallup Organization, plans to update its Web site — www.gallup.com — as soon as presidential polls are released. Once The Gallup Poll, Princeton, NJ, updates content on the Web site, Alerts intends to deliver poll results within a matter of minutes, representatives said.

Registered users can sign up for the permission-based service on either one of the Web sites. Notifications are customized according to the user’s choice of device. For instance, a user can receive an update via e-mail in HTML or text form, or have it formatted to a cell phone’s character capabilities.

Michael Jones, president/CEO of Alerts, hopes the presidential candidates can benefit from the service as much as the average Internet user.

“Receiving poll information an hour or two later is a huge difference in making a decision for [the politicians],” he said. “Knowing within minutes so they can execute their plans for political strategy is very critical.”
