Alerts.com Partners With 247 Media for Online Service

Alerts.com will provide 24/7 Media clients with personalized information and news alerts in a partnership announced yesterday.

The service will give Web sites “another way to help drive traffic and keep their customers loyal,” said Cindy Brown, senior vice president and general manager at 24/7 Exactis, the company’s e-mail service bureau.

A click on a button at a site featuring Alerts allows a customer to tailor his information criteria, the method of receiving updates and the timing of updates.

“A customer might ask an online merchant to Alert her by e-mail when a particular item goes on sale,” Brown said. When it does go on sale, the customer would get a message that would include a URL link for access to the site.

Alerts can be sent to PCs, cell phones, pagers, personal digital assistants, telephones and fax machines.

Founded two years ago, Alerts.com, Raleigh, NC, remotely monitors Web sites and delivers pertinent information as specified by customers.
