Airborne Express Debuts Center for Small Businesses

Airborne Express, Seattle, has launched its Small Business Center and new Web-enabled tools designed to make shipping even more cost-effective and convenient for desktop shippers.

From the carrier's home page at Airborne.com, business shippers can access the Small Business Center to sign up for a new account, receive information on product and service options and manage their shipping activities.

The center also includes a comparative rate analysis tool that allows small-business shippers to compare Airborne's rates instantly with those of other carriers. Also, an enhanced service calculator lets customers determine the available delivery services for any shipment as well as associated pricing zones and transit times, including the new 10:30 Urgent A.M. Guaranteed Service as well as Overnight Air Express, Next Afternoon and Second Day delivery.

The new eServices section, accessed through Airborne's home page or the Small Business Center, allows customers to view and pay invoices electronically, order flight-ready envelopes and send secure documents via e-courier.

This fall, Airborne will introduce ShipExchange as a major upgrade to its eServices shipping application. It will provide even more sophisticated Web-based tools, including international and ground-delivery shipping capabilities. ShipExchange is designed for customers with smaller shipment volumes and is based on Airborne's recently released CorporateExchange Web-based shipping system.
