AGA Agency Wins Harrods, Mercedes-Benz, Petrossian Paris Accounts

Direct marketing services agency AGA Catalog Marketing and Design, New York, has been named agency of record for Harrods.com, London; Mercedes-Benz of Daimler-Benz, Stuttgart, Germany; and Petrossian Paris, New York.

AGA said all three companies chose AGA for its expertise in direct marketing, catalog marketing, and design. Billings were not disclosed.

“These are well-respected international brands that leverage our presence in both New York and London,” said Andy Russell, president/CEO of AGA. “And they're relying on us for a broad range of services, including branding, direct marketing, Web site and catalog synergy.”

Russell said AGA is well-positioned to support “emerging click-and-flip organizations, or those that market via the Web and through catalogs.” And though he believes that the “numbers story” is still being played out regarding consumers' preference for online shopping vs. phone orders from actual catalogs, clients know about AGA's record of delivery in both areas.

At Harrods.com, the Web site of one of Europe's most popular retail outlets, a company spokesman said AGA was chosen to design its Netalog. He said AGA had also developed previous initiatives for Harrods, “demonstrating their understanding of the brand.”

Glenn Rizzo, Mercedes-Benz's department manager for automotive accessories, said the company turned to AGA for its direct marketing expertise and guidance on the company's automotive accessories catalog.

“It became apparent that the AGA team understood and would have the ability to interpret our business goals and vision into a successful consumer catalog,” Rizzo said.

He said he was confident that the agency had the integrity and capability to develop catalog materials for “one of the most recognized brand names and identities in the world.”

At Petrossian Paris, the caviar catalog that also includes a selection of gift sets and serving accessories, CEO Marty Abrams said the company decided to partner with AGA on its consumer catalog after “we considered four different agencies that specialized in direct and catalog marketing.” He said everyone at Petrossian “found AGA to be the best in both creative and production.”

Founded in 1944, AGA serves leading direct marketers and retailers with catalogs, advertising and direct marketing creative design, Web sites, direct mail, free-standing inserts, space advertising, instore signage and collateral material.
