After SuperTarget, Tupperware Now in Kroger and Fry’s

After announcing a similar deal in July with Target Corp., direct seller Tupperware Corp. will sell its food storage, preparation and serving products in select Kroger Co. grocery stores.

The Orlando-based company today will offer a range of items at Tupperware kiosks in 19 Kroger stores in Kentucky and Ohio, and six Fry’s stores in the Phoenix area.

Local Tupperware sales consultants will staff the in-store product areas and offer demonstrations and information on items, recipe ideas and tips.

The expansion into retail stores like Kroger and SuperTarget comes as Tupperware claims success with its 3-year-old mall showcase model. In fourth quarter 2000, there were 450 kiosks in malls nationwide. On average, 160 open each year.

Tupperware also sells its plastic containers through its corporate and sales force Web sites and the Home Shopping Network television channel.
